Lucinda May Dore

January 10, 1928 — January 17, 2013

Lucinda May (Bolt) Dore, age 85, went home to be with Jesus January 17, 2013. She passed away after a short struggle with pneumonia. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory, a Memorial Service will be held at the Livingston Church of God on Thursday, January 24, at 2 pm. Lucinda was born January 10, 1928 in Montrose, Colorado to George Henry and Ruby Eloise (Benson) Bolt, she grew up as the daughter of a prominent accountant for the Bureau of Reclamation. During her childhood, she also lived in Boulder City, Nevada; Los Angeles and Earp, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and Denver, as her father worked on reclamation projects across the West. She worked for a short time in Mammoth, Yellowstone Park before she married Lyford W. Dore, December 17, 1950 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, following his service during World War II veteran as an airplane mechanic. They lived in Yellowstone Park for a few years before they built their house near Gardiner, Montana, which they occupied Halloween night 1959. There May and Lyford continued to raise their family as Lyford worked for the Park as a plumber and maintenance person. Lyford's sister Addie lived with them for a short time, and May's mother and sister moved into a house next to them in 1978. As Lyford aged he became increasingly ill. May was very diligent in giving great care to Lyford during those years until he passed away in 2000, just short of 50 years of marriage. Wayne came to live with her in 2004 since she was trying to take care of Betty, who was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. After suffering a severe stroke Easter Sunday 2010, she lived at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center until she passed away. Blessed be her memory. May always enjoyed collecting things, such as rocks, arrowheads, TV shows, and newspaper articles; she enjoyed playing the piano, and was a skilled typist. She loved her family very much, and her home, where she could view all kinds of wildlife from her living room window. Her desire in life was to take care of people and was a very generous person. We will all miss her sweet disposition. Deep appreciation is given to the staff at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center, Livingston Memorial Hospital, Livingston Church of God, and Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. May was preceded in death by her only husband Lyford Wilson Dore and an older sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Bolt Harris Wiebe McGowen. She is survived by four children: Samuel Wayne and Daniel George Dore, Jean Louise Welch, and Timothy Walter Dore; eight grandchildren: Wayne Lyford, Scott Walter, Kevin Lee, Danny Lee, Justin Louis, and Rachel Amanda Dore, and Jared Kyle and Kassia Merrissa Larson; and one great-grandchild, Latashia Marie Dore. Arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
