Margaret Ann Peggy (Duenn) Larson

April 25, 1938 — February 20, 2018

Margaret Ann 'Peggy' Larson, 79, of Livingston, Montana passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital with her daughter and grandson at her side.Peggy was born April 25, 1938 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was the oldest child of Walter and Mary Duenn. She was an adventuresome spirit! She took hot air balloon rides, went whitewater rafting on the Gallatin River, parasailing, motorcycling, and even riding a camel when she was 77! She loved to travel and take pictures of all the beautiful places she saw. She traveled all 50 states, plus Panama, New Zealand, and Australia. Of all the wonders she saw, her children were always her greatest treasures. She had a deep faith in God. She truly embodied Christs teachings and loved people unconditionally. She taught us by example the truest and deepest meaning of love. She did not have an easy life. Growing up she suffered from teasing because she had crossed eyes. June 21, 1956 she married George Wright. From this union her three children were born. George abandoned her and the children in 1965, and she became a single parent in the 1960s, working two or three jobs to support her family. In 1970 she married Robert 'Bob' Larson, blending the family with his two boys, Larry and Robert. Bob was not an easy man to live with, and they divorced in 1979.Peggy worked many jobs over the years, often as a receptionist. In the early 1980s she moved to Redmond, WA with her mother when she retired. Peggy loved the Seattle area! It was in Seattle she had her first hot air balloon ride! She returned to Illinois to be closer to her children after her Moms passing in the early 1990s. In 2000, Peggy embarked on a grand adventure with her friend, Joyce, traveling in a motor-home exploring the United States, plus taking several cruises to places around the world, with a home base in south Texas. In 2013 she moved to Livingston, MT, hanging up her traveling shoes to be closer to her daughter. Peggy fell in love with Montana! We would take rides all over the area, marveling at the sky, the mountains, the wonderful cloud formations, the sparkling waters, and the awesome wildlife! She would always say, "This is our backyard!"On Tuesday February 20, 2018 the Lord came to take Mom home and to end her suffering. Her daughter and her oldest grandson were honored to be with her at the end of her life. "Death is a memory that no one can heal. Love is a memory that no one can steal."Peggy was predeceased by her father, mother, youngest brother, Randy, and her youngest daughter, Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Merlin), and son, Jim (Debbie); her grandchildren: J (Sarah), Jennifer (Matt), Kristopher (Tina) and Johnathan (Kelly); and her great-grandchildren: Maggie, Dulce, Angus, Evelyn, and Woody. Two new great-grandchildren are due this spring! Her brothers Rich (Jean) and Ron (Deb). Mom made many life-long friends who will miss her very much.Peggy has been cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 21, at the Yellowstone Pioneer Lodge, 1515 W. Park Street in Livingston, MT. We ask you commit a random act of kindness in her honor. We love you Mom, so very much!Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
