Margery Jean (Nickelson) Warfield

August 31, 1929 — July 19, 2017

Margery Warfield, 87, of Livingston, Montana passed away Wednesday July 19, 2017. Cremation has taken place and celebration of Marges life will be held at her cherished ranch home, 540 Mill Creek Road on Monday July 24th at 2:00 P.M. Marge was born August 31, 1929 to Albert and Clara Nickelson. The family lived various places in South Central Montana while Albert worked with the Montana Highway Patrol. Marge graduated from high school in Columbus, attended and graduated from Montana State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany. She married a dashing rancher who lived next door named Jim Warfield on September 1, 1951. They ranched on Mill Creek where she loved the life and helped with work haying, calving, feeding, threshing and branding crews; and her favorite job o driving the stacker team of horses. Marge raised three children she was very proud of and who all went on to get college degrees. She was tickled to think she raised an outstanding progressive ranch manager, and aerospace engineer an a reproductive physiologist. Marge loved promoting education and was a 50 year member of P.E.O. Reading and activities associated with the library were very important to her and she served on the local Friends of the Library board for many years. Favorite pastimes for Marge included enjoying the outdoors walking with wonderful friend Norma Shapiro, hiking or going on pack trips with her family, and reading. She listened to over 650 talking books in the last few years of her life. Due to declining health Marge was most recently living at Caslen Assisted Living in Livingston where the awesome management and staff took outstanding care of her and enriched her days with conversation, laughing and information Googled on their phones. Marge is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Alan Redfield, granddaughters, Jodi Redfield and Katie Redfield; son, Matt Warfield and grandson, Jason Warfield; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Duane Nollmeyer; great-grandchildren, Ben and Adele Warfield She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, parents, Clara and Albert Nickelson, sister, Barbara Tipton, brother, Harold Nickelson and grandson, Dustin Warfield. Memorials are preferred to Park County Friends of the Library, 228 West Callender Street, Livingston MT 59047. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
