Marilyn "Dolly" Holland

Emigrant

Marilyn Evelyn Holland age 84, of Emigrant, Montana, passed away on March 28th, 2024.  She was born on December 19, 1939, in Corwin Springs, Montana.  Dolly as she was affectionately known, loved Montana, and everything about it, including hunting with her husband Ken, and best friends Chauncey and Edna Miller, and fishing and camping with family.  She was a talented seamstress, who lovingly made clothes, for her four daughters.  Dolly enjoyed road trips with her girls, exploring various states including Oregon, Alaska, Florida, Missouri, and many more, including a trip to Canada.

Dolly is Survived by her Daughters; Joyce (Russ) Smith, Kathy (David) Burns, Sandy (Willie) Holland, and Michelle (Bob) Quesenberry,  Her Siblings; Louise Coons, Dorothy Powell, Jim (Sue) Wentz, Joanne (Bob) Laflex, Grandchildren; Keith Borresen, Jennifer Borresen, Ed (Brittany) Fisher, Steve (Jamie) Fisher, Effie (Robert) Orser, Ilima Cameron,  Step Grandchildren; Angela (Seth) Conlin, Katherine Quesenberry, Becky (Kodie) Miller and Dustin Burns,  20 Great grandchildren, and 3 Great great Grandchildren.   

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 51 years Kenneth Holland, Siblings; Ruth Schaffer, Fred Wentz, Paul Wentz, June Laflex, Peggy Werner, Calvin Wentz, and Leroy (Sunny) Wentz, plus her two beloved cats Jonah, and Jake.

Dolly attended Gardiner High School, and Later operated the Gardiner Motel and Gas station, and provided a gathering place for young people, which had Jukebox, and pool tables, for after school and weekends get togethers from 1971-1974.  She waitressed at the Town Café from 1974-1994.  In her free time Dolly cherished moments with her close friends, including Marge Burns, Carol Hepburn, Betty Peterson, Jackie Jerla, Justin Tandy, Jean Besmehn, just to mention a few.

A service to honor Dolly’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 6th, at the Elks Lodge at 130 S. 2nd Street, in Livingston, Montana

Contributions in her Memory can be made to the Stafford Animal Shelter, 3 Business Park Rd, Livingston, MT  59047. 

Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, Montana is assisting with the arrangements.
