Maydell Victoria Goulart, 89, of Emigrant, Montana, passed away at midnight on Sunday June 19th at her home on Capricorn Drive in the Glastonbury Community in Emigrant. Her cremation took place at Franzen-Davis Crematory on Saturday, June 21 at noon.
Maydell Victoria Goulart was born on May 18, 1933, in San Francisco, CA. She was the daughter of George and Louise Davis.
Maydell was united in marriage to Joseph Arthur Goulart, now deceased. They resided with their two children in Castro Valley in the Bay Area of California for over a decade. They later moved to the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Maydell and Art shared 33 years of marriage until they divorced in 1989.
Maydell was employed at Pacific Bell for numerous years, where she worked as a draftsperson. After giving birth to her first child, she became a full-time homemaker.
Maydell was a very accomplished and mostly self-taught artist and has painted numerous oil portraits and other paintings over the course of her life. She has also designed and was chief architect for numerous homes constructed by her former husband. She was an artist and a natural health enthusiast, who also enjoyed drawing, playing piano, studying astrology, sewing, gardening, learning about herbal remedies, nutrition/natural forms of medicine, and reading esoteric literature. She was an avid reader, who often read up to a book per day.
After moving to Montana in 1989, she became an active board member of the Glastonbury Landowner’s Association and helped to keep the Glastonbury Community informed via telephone trees for many years before the popular adoption of email and social media. She was a member of Church Universal and Triumphant for many years, then later joined a local group called The Hearts Center. She has donated her home and property to a non-profit organization that she helped to form--The Healing Light Retreat. In 2020, she published a partially autobiographical book called: Inner Secrets about our Sun, Earth, Birth, Life, and Death.
