Monte R. Mathis

Monte Ray Mathis, 90, of Livingston, Montana passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16th, 2021 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital. Cremation has taken place and per Monte's wishes a formal service will not be held. Monte was born in Pray, Montana on June 28, 1930 to Ralph James and Abbie Josephine Mathis. On March 6, 1952 Monte was united in marriage to Charlene J. Taylor in Livingston. They made their home here and raised three daughters. Monte is survived by his daughters, Vicky Cordingly of Bozeman and Debra (John) Franks of Livingston. Grandchildren, Blaine (Kimberly) Taylor, Brenda Taylor, Thomas Relaford, Nick Cordingly, and Kimberly Hartman; great-grandchildren, Frances Taylor, Andrew Bergo, Savannah Bergo, Emmet Jones, and Addison Hartman; and a sister-in-law, Kathe Mathis. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Monte was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, daughter, Mickie King, his wife, Charlene, his brothers, Keith and Roland.Monte, you will be missed, but remembered as a caring father, a devoted provider and a terrific grandpa.
