Muriel Bell (Pelletier) Chapel, 95, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Friday, February 24th, 2017 at Livingston HealthCare Hospital with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A formal memorial is not planned at this time. Memorials are preferred to: Park County Senior Center or Angel Line Transportation, both are at: 206 S Main St, Livingston, MT 59047 or Angel Lines. Muriel was born on January 8th, 1922, in Olds, Alberta, Canada. She was the third of five daughters born to Charles and Laura (Campbell) Pelletier. She received her education in Portland and was a graduate of the Jefferson High School Class of 1940. Following her graduation she remained in the Portland area. Muriel and some girlfriends were in Chico, California for an Army dance. There she met the love of her life Kenneth Chapel. They courted until their marriage and on September 5th, 1944, Muriel was united in marriage to Ken, in Portland, OR. Following their union they moved to Livingston. Here Muriel assisted Ken in running his Sheep Shearing business, answering phones and keeping the books. Following 18 years of marriage they were blessed with a son, Ken Jr. Muriel and Ken had shared 46 years of marriage prior to Kens passing on November 6th, 1990. Muriel stayed home tending to her family and the home. Her favorite hobby and enjoyment was bowling. She bowled three to five times per week until she was in her 70s. She enjoyed card games, watching sports on TV, crossword puzzles, and game shows. She was strong enough of will and body to have lived on her own up until her passing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Blessed be her memory. Muriel is survived by her: son, Ken Chapel and his wife Susan, their children, Neil and Grant all of Aurora, CO. Brother-in-law, Laurence Chapel and his wife Virginia of Livingston and sister-in-law, Avis Funk of Livingston. Nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Muriel is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
