Nacoma Rachel Barton, age 34, of Livingston, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman with her loved ones by her side. A Celebration of Nacoma's Life will be held at the Livingston Christian Center on Wednesday, March 13, 11 A.M., with Chaplain Ed Neuman officiating. A potluck fellowship will follow at the Livingston Elks Lodge #246; 130 S. 2nd Street. Nacoma was born on December, 30 1978, in Buena Park, California. She was born the daughter of Misty Ann Barton. She received her education beginning at the Pine Creek School in Paradise Valley through the 2nd grade. She then attended Livingston Schools and was a graduate of the Park High School Class of 1997. Nacoma was an athletic girl playing Varsity Basketball and Volleyball. Nacoma grew up knowing responsibility. She raised her brothers while her mother was attending college. She continued this care while her mother worked out of town all the while maintaining her schedule of school, work and sports. From that time on her family knew her tenacity. She was a "Lioness". She would continue to be a great protector her entire life. She would watch over everyone and always put others first. On November, 23 2004, Nacoma was united in marriage to Jason Jacobsen. This marriage was blessed with a son, Danyk. His birth was a gift from above for both of them as her disease may have never allowed Nacoma to have children. They shared 11 years of love together. Nacoma began her working career as a waitress; working at the Old Saloon, The Sport, and then for some time at Chico Hot Springs. Following Chico, Nacoma began working for Karl Knuchel as a Legal Secretary. She then went to work for June Little as Deputy Clerk of District Court. Nacoma achieved a promotion being named Chief Deputy Clerk of District Court for Park County Montana 2009. Nacoma enjoyed LIFE. She was athletic and she was feminine. Her athletic side was a Mountain Woman. Nacoma hiked, camped, snowboarded, hunted, fished and rode motorcycles and 4wheelers better than most guys. Her feminine side always showed through her beauty. Nacoma loved clothing, was a gourmet cook and beaded. She gardened, loved flowers and drying them. Nacoma was a woman of many talents though her greatest accomplishment and joy was MOTHERHOOD. Nacoma passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013, at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital at the age of 34 years surrounded by love. Nacoma is now at peace and blessed be her memory. In death Nacoma was able to give one last gift. She donated her corneas so that others may see.
