She was the daughter of Bernardino and Maria (Lacombe) Quintana. While a young girl she left home and moved to Denver, CO. There she met a lovely lady who taught her the gifts of sewing, cooking and baking. She met LeRoy Fredrick "Lee" Schwanke Sr. while living in Denver and within a week they were married which was on August 6th, 1943. In 1945 the couple moved back to Livingston following Lees discharge from the Air Force. They made Livingston their home purchasing the Sport from Lees step-father in 1952 and the two of them operated the restaurant until selling it in 1965. Nellie loved everybody she met. She was a true giver never taking. She was ready and willing to help anyone who was in need. There is a lengthy history of Nellie and not the space to tell the story. She will eternally be remembered for her strong faith, a giver of love, hugs and kisses. We are blessed to know she is at peace resting in the arms of our Lord. Nellie is survived by her Son, LeRoy F. "Fred" Schwanke Jr. and his wife Carol; two grandsons, Lee and Jay and Jays wife Jen; as well as, three beautiful great-grandchildren. All of Dublin Ohio. Two sisters, Bertha Martinez of Denver, CO and Irene Quintana of Livingston. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Bernardino and Maria Quintana; husband, LeRoy "Lee" Schwanke Sr.; three sisters and eight brothers. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Livingston.
