Neoma B. (Miller) Shepherd

October 15, 1914 — November 28, 2016

Neoma B. Shepherd, 102, of Livingston, currently residing in Bozeman, Montana, passed away Monday, November 28th, 2016 at the Mountain View Care Center in Bozeman. Neoma was born in Novelty, Missouri in 1914 to Goldie and Earl Miller. She graduated from high school in 1933. In 1935 her dad packed up the family of six kids and came to Montana in a Hupmobile. Since the car wouldnt pull over the hills with a trailer, the kids had to get out and push! She married Ernie Kunish and moved to Alaska. It was wartime and all the men went to war, "so the women took over." She was the only female cab driver in Juneau. After the war, they divorced and she moved to Seattle and worked for Boeing until she retired. She married L. J. Shepherd and later divorced. She moved back to Livingston to be near family. She worked for the Senior Companion Program for many years and was president of Livingston Senior Center. She loved to travel. Her trips were to Hawaii, Washington D.C., Panama Canal, and all over Europe. One of her favorites was a cruise on the Mediterranean. Her story of going 1000 miles up the Amazon River was quite the adventure. She was preceded in death by all her siblings and their spouses: brothers, Edgar and Angie Miller and Bob Miller; sisters, Bea and Bill Tecca, Gen and John Scalise, Mary and Jim Moran and nephew Bill Scalise. She is survived by her nieces, Linda and "nephew" Bob Batchelder, Barb (Dennis) Dodge. Her great-niece, Lisa (Bob) Barrett, who she loved seeing and called her "picklepuss". Also, many other nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory
