The world has lost a very special man. Owen loved life, people, laughter, and teasing, but most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Owen passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014. His twinkling eyes and smile was contagious and forever will be missed. His tender touch always made you feel safe and loved. Owen was born in Baltimore, MD on November 12, 1946 to Reverend Owen Arrington and Eleanor Murray Arrington. His father was a Methodist Minister and they moved 3 or 4 times before settling in Bozeman in 1960. Owen graduated from Bozeman Senior High and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Yvonne Hubbard on May 28, 1967. Owen enlisted in the Army reserves and served our nation for 7 years. He loved our country and proudly flew the American flag. During Owen's life he was the owner of two gas stations and a roller skating rink "Skate Palace". Owen enjoyed his ranch life with the cows and horses. He loved to talk stories with his dear rancher friend Farrell Lloyd (now deceased) who lived 4 miles away. There was always a funny story to tell. Owen's wife had deteriorating health and he chose to sell all the animals and help her with the hotel, restaurant and casino business. Owen was still very active in the business at the time of his death. At the time of his death, Owen was doing what he loved most; being with his grandchildren, this time picking apples from their trees. Owen and Yvonne had two children, Stacie Pesanti (Ryan) from Anaconda, MT and Kasey Arrington (Angie) from Bozeman. Grandchildren Kassidy Arrington, Vivian Arrington, Cora Pesanti, Cali Pesanti and Owen Pesanti. Owen is survived by his wife Yvonne, children Stacie and Kasey, his five grandchildren and sisters, Elaine Stav (Gary) of Moore, Idaho, Linda Arrington of Boise, Idaho, Annette Olsson (Don) of Ronan, MT. Rochelle Moody (Phillip) of Livingston, MT. and Nicki Hicks (Brad) of Livingston, MT; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Owens LIFE will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 12th, at Holbrook United Methodist Church, corner of 5th and Lewis Streets in Livingston. Fellowship will follow the service at the Holbrook Fellowship Hall. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
