Pamela Sommers, 72, of Livingston, Montana, passed away February 21, 2022, at her home in the Paradise Valley with her loving husband, Stephen, at her side.Pam was born August 19, 1949, in Casper, Wyoming, to Dora and Gordon Gillespie. She attended schools in Colorado and California and graduated in 1968 from Western High School in Las Vegas, NV. Pam married Stephen Sommers on June 26, 1983, at what would become their home in Pray, MT. This marriage of 39 years was blessed with 6 Labradors. Pam worked as a teacher at Bear Creek High School in Lakewood, CO, before becoming a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Livingston. Unfortunately, Pam had to take a medical retirement in 1992 following a back injury. Pam was the "It Girl" of our youth; vivacious, stylish, full of spontaneity (and often salty language), always throwing caution to the wind with her unbridled enthusiasm for life and those she loved. She was fearless and passionate. Pam loved her man (fiercely), her family, her friends (and their children), her Labradors, her crafts, her lovely gardens, birthdays, fast cars, and her beautiful home on the Yellowstone River. Pam was always up for an adventure, road trip, a celebration, a party, or just fun in the sun. Pam fed us great food, sewed bespoke Hawaiian shirts for everyone, and opened her home to us for memorable times. She was a straight shooter, a trusted confidante and "sorter outer". She could talk anybody into anything and would slap you "upside the head" if she thought you needed it. She was loyal with a heart as big as Montana. Her warm, ever charming presence made you feel drawn in and brought people together. Pam held space for her friends and listened to their stories, joys, and their heartaches. She was a keeper of histories and her stories. I will always miss her and feel blessed to have had her as a friend and wife...Dance away Dear One, See you on the " Other Side", Dance with the Angels, but Save the Last Dance for Me.Pam is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen; brothers, Jerry and Stanley Gillespie; her lab, Dillon; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Pam was preceded in death by her parents.Special thanks to Livingston HealthCare Hospice and their Care Helpers. A Celebration of Pam's Life will be held August 20th, 2022, at the home of Ron and Desiree Pihl, 63 Clark Lane, Pray, MT. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
