Patricia Ann (Crossen) Hoppe

September 19, 1931 — June 4, 2014

Patricia Ann (Crossen) Hoppe, 82, of Gardiner, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Livingston HealthCare. Cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service will be held 6:30 P.M., Thursday, June 12th, at Gardiner Community Church (318 Main Street) with Rev. Dr. William Young officiating. Fellowship will follow the service. Memorials are preferred to: Gardiner Emergency Services Fund, PO Box 307, Gardiner, MT 59030 Patricia was born on September 19, 1931, in Choteau, Montana. She was the daughter of Hugh and Florence (OBrien) Crossen. Her family moved at a young age spending a short time in Silvergate and then settling in Gardiner. She received her education in Great Falls attending Ursuline Academy. She was a graduate of Laramie School in Wyoming, Class of 1949. Pat attended Nursing School in Helena and Billings. On February 1, 1951 Patricia was united in marriage to Wayne H. Hoppe in Livingston. This marriage was blessed with two children, Bill and Patrick. Following their marriage Patricia and Wayne began their lives together in Gardiner. Both were life-time residents of Gardiner. She and Wayne shared 60 years of marriage. Patricia was an extremely hard working woman both at the home and in her career. She was employed at the Town Caf and the K-Bar waiting tables. After the kids were out of the house she took over as manager of the State Liquor Store until her retirement. She was a proud and faithful member of the Gardiner community, Eagles Auxiliary and Laugh-In. Patricia was a spectacular cook and she loved to do it. It was not uncommon for her to feed a houseful of thirty people while Wayne was outfitting. Many will remember her for some of the best pies they had ever had. Patricia enjoyed her gardens and flowers and raising her beef and milk cows. She especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Blessed be her memory. Patricia is survived by her: Two sons, Bill Hoppe and his wife Peggy, Patrick Hoppe and his wife JoLynn Sharrow; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hoppe all of Gardiner. Seven grandchildren, Beth Dreyer and her husband Adam, Allen Hoppe and his wife Olesja, Blaine Hoppe and his wife Janet, Dean Hoppe and his wife Lori, Wayne R. Hoppe and his wife Erin and Cayden and Brynn Hoppe. 13 great-grandchildren, Jade, Austin, Brooke, Kyler, Brian, Carmen, Caleb, Natalie, Badger, Madalyn, Katie, JD and Maggie. Sister, Cleo Huber and her husband Fred of Gardiner. Sister-in-Law Joann Hoppe of Phoenix, AZ. Dear friends, Burt and Phyllis Walter of Laurel; Dennis and Judy Proffit of Garrison, ND; Peter and Ginny Katzleberger of Felton, CA; and Susie OHalloran of Burlingam, CA. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Florence Crossen, husband Wayne Hoppe on March 3, 2011, and an infant grandson Christopher Hoppe on December 1, 2006. Arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
