Phillip Phil Polillo

Phillip "Phil" Polillo, 79, of Wilsall formerly of Livingston, Montana passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Spring Creek Inn Assisted Living Community in Bozeman. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory; per Phils wishes a formal Memorial Funeral will not be held. Phil was born on July 25, 1935, in Livingston, Montana. He was the son of Luigi and Philipina (DeCco) Polillo. He received his education in Livingston attending St. Marys Parochial School and was a graduate of the Park County High School Class of 1955. Following Phils graduation he worked several jobs then was hired on with the Railroad. He met the love of his life Sharon VanGilder and on July 2, 1960, Phil was united in marriage to Sharon at St. Marys Catholic Church in Livingston. This marriage was blessed with two children, Shelly and Roger. Phil and Sharon resided in Livingston most of their lives. They later moved to their family cabin north of Wilsall on the Smith Creek and Goat Creek area following Phils retirement in 1997. They shared 54 years of marriage. Phil was employed with the railroad as an engine fireman and then became a machinist. He was also employed with the Livingston Fire Department for ten years in-between stints with the railroad. He retired in 1997. Phil loved to be able to take Sharon and the family to the cabin in Wilsall on the weekends. Phil was a member of the Elks at one time as well as the Big Sky Snowmobile Riders Club. He as a fix it all man who enjoyed every minute he spent in the garage tinkering. He was a teacher too; teaching Roger how to put projects back together once he had gotten them apart. He had built Model T cars that he raced in the MT 500 race. Phil enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting, off-road four wheeling and snowmobiling. He was a hardworking man who would hold two and three jobs at a time. He was a devoted father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Phil is survived by his: Loving wife of 54 years, Sharon of Wilsall. Daughter, Shelly Bailey and her husband Todd of Livingston. Shellys Children, Daughter, Dusty Dawn Bailey; her children, Chandler, Clayton and Daymon; Son, Jason Bailey and his wife Amber; his children, Stetson and twins Weston and Siara. Son, Roger Polillo and his wife Shelly Ann of Livingston. Roger and Shelly Anns Children, Kayla and Matthew Polillo. Sister, Theresa Cech of Helena. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Phil is preceded in death by his Parents, Luigi and Philipina Polillo, Sister, Marietta Ricci and two Grandchildren, James Bailey in 2002 and Allan Polillo in 1996. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
