Richard C. Rom of Livingston, Montana, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at his home in Paradise Valley, after his long battle with cancer. His beloved wife Sandy and daughter Andrea were by his side.A lifelong resident, Richard was born in Livingston on July 13, 1943. He was the son of John R. and Agnes (Besak) Rom. He received his education in Livingston and was a graduate of the Park High Class of 1961.Richard and Sandy were married in Deadwood, South Dakota on July 30, 1988. He retired after 30 years of employment with the B.N. and B.N.S.F. railroads. He was a talented mechanic, employed at several shops around town, and also worked on cars in his shop. He loved the mountains, trail biking, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Richard's hobbies included making beautiful knives, rebuilding guns, hatchets, axes, etc. He could fix anything his wife Sandy broke, and that kept him pretty busy!Richard is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandy; adopted daughter, Tiffany Marie (Jay) Cartwright of Estero, FL; Andrea Lynn Barrow of Puyallup, WA; Rachel Ann (Kevin) Swope of Elma, WA; numerous grandchildren.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements, where cremation has taken place.
