Robert Russell Burtch, 69, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 1st, at Shorthill Cemetery at 11:00. Meet at Franzen Davis Funeral Home at 10:30 to proceed to the cemetery. Immediately after the service we will be having food, drinks and fun memories at the house. (16 Haven Meadow Loop). If you can't make it to the cemetery feel free to still come by the house for the celebration of his life. We would like to put together a scrapbook of memories for our grand daughter who has only known her Bumpa when he was sick. I would appreciate it if you could jot down a fun/crazy memory you have of Bob to put in the scrapbook. We will let her read them when she is an adult. Robert was born on November 17, 1947 in Livingston, MT. He was the son of Eugene and Mona (Jordan) Burtch. He graduated from Park High School, Class of 1966. Robert entered active military service in the United States Army in 1968 and served two tours in Vietnam before he was Honorably Discharged in 1971. Shortly after his return to Livingston he met and married his wife of 44 years, Sherri Madsen. They were united in marriage on June 9, 1972 and have two daughters together. Robert began his insurance career in Helena, MT as a Farmers Insurance Agent in 1974. Later he became an Independent Agent in Helena and Livingston, MT. He then joined AIG Insurance in 1986 in various management roles taking the family to Springfield, IL and then later to Baton Rouge, LA. He left AIG in 2006 due to his illness. He had struggled with lung and heart issues related to his exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam since 2000. He enjoyed watching and attending LSU Tiger Football games, traveling in his motorhome, hunting, remodeling, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Sherri, his daughters Kari Burtch of Livingston, Ronda Burtch (Tim Bordelon) of Baton Rouge, LA and the light of his life, his granddaughter Breelyn Bordelon. He is also survived by his sister, Carolee Gillen of Fort Benton, MT; brother, Bill Burtch (Susan Kros) of Philadelphia, MS; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Ronald.
