Robert William Telljohn

August 4, 1931 — December 23, 2016

Robert William "Bob" Telljohn, AKA, "Yankee Bob the Cookie Man", 85, of Livingston, Montana passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, December 23rd, 2016 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital with his children at his side. Memorial Service will be forthcoming in the Summer. Bob was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 4th, 1931 during the Great Depression. To make ends meet his family sold home grown vegetables. Bob attended Principia College and received a BS in Chemistry. During that time he worked at a Soda Fountain which undoubtedly started his lifelong love of ice cream. Right after school he joined the Army where he worked as a Russian translator for military intelligence during the beginning of the cold war. During his service he was stationed in Japan where he participated in the bases theater where he acted in two plays. Bob also met his first wife while he was stationed in Japan. They spent the first years of their marriage in Idyllwild, CA. where Bob worked as a teacher. They moved to North Hollywood where they started a family. During that time Bob went into a career of electroplating with various companies, one which electroplated components for the space shuttle program. In the 70s Bob found himself to be a bachelor and moved to Hollywood, where he took up tennis as a hobby. On a post-divorce spiritual journey he found Church Universal and Triumphant , which eventually lead him to retire in Livingston in the 90s. He immediately became part of community by volunteering for meals on wheels and participating with the Yellowstone Ballet Company, where he played small roles in Hiawatha and the Nutcracker as well as sitting on their board. He took on a number of retirement hobbies including poetry writing, which he was published, and selling his healthy baked goods at the local farmers markets in Sacajawea Park and Emigrant. Bob will always be remembered for his quick wit and always being good for a laugh. He is survived by his two adult children. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
