Roger J. Whiteside, of Livingston, Montana went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Billings Clinic Hospital.
Roger was born May 24, 1963, to Neal and Janet (Armstrong) Whiteside in Urbana, Illinois.
Roger worked for the National Park Service in Yellowstone for nearly 40 years in Computer Support Services and was promoted to Supervisory IT Specialist in 2018. He truly loved working in Yellowstone and held a great sense of pride knowing that he was a part of so many who have worked to make the park such an amazing place. He never lost sight that he was privileged to work in such a beautiful area.
Roger was united in marriage to his wife Sherry in September of 2004. His favorite hobby was his family. He was a loving husband and best friend to Sherry. He was a very present, front row grandpa, who attended school functions and as many sporting events as possible for all his grandchildren. He was a grandpa who helped with homework, putting puzzles together, and playing the ticket agent for “polar express night” during the Christmas school breaks.
He was an active member of Paradise Valley Community Church. He served on the church board, was a teacher for the adult Sunday school, and was involved in Awana. Roger loved reading and studying his Bible and the highlight of his week was sharing what he had learned with those who attended his class.
Roger is survived by his wife Sherry; daughter, Audrey and her husband Aaron Winfrey, their children, Teagan, Hayden, Isaac, Kadence, Brandon, Payton, Griffin, Alayna, Mason, and Samuel; daughter, Leslie and her husband Elder Cortez, and their children Danilo, Enzo, and a baby girl on the way; He is also survived by his parents, Neal and Janet Whiteside; sister, Theresa and her wife Rhonda; sister, Susan and her husband Jonathan Kauffman, and their children Joshua and wife Amanda and daughter Kaylee, Hillary and husband Angel, and Megan.
