Roy A. Harper, age 55, of Seattle, WA, died December, 13, 2012 in Seattle following a courageous battle with cancer. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 11:30 am, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston with Father Leo McDowell officiating. Roy was born on October 30, 1957, in Glendive, MT. He was the son of Archie and Betty (Marman) Harper. Roy was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth. Roy resided in Livingston until the sixth grade, he then moved with his family to Seattle where he was a graduate of the Ballard High School. On December 15, 1984, Roy was united in marriage to Hope Chamberlin. This marriage was blessed with two children. Roy and Hope shared 28 years of marriage. Roy was employed for thirty years with Burlington Northern as a Carman; he was responsible for inspecting, rebuilding, and repairing freight cars. Roy enjoyed time spent fishing, cooking, canning and working on his classic Mustang. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends. Roy passed away on December 13, 2012, in Seattle, Washington following a courageous battle with cancer, the age of 55 years. Blessed be his memory. Roy is survived by his: Wife, Hope Harper, of Seattle, WA; Son, Ben Harper and his wife, Caroline, of Seattle, WA; Daughter, Katie Harper, of Seattle, WA; Sister, Peggy Jacobsen and her husband, Jerry, of Livingston; Brother, Jim Harper, of Livingston; Nephews, Jeremy Jacobsen and his wife, Kathy, of Livingston; Jason Jacobsen, of Livingston; Cody Harper and his wife, Brandy, of Livingston; Niece, Brandy Harper, of Alaska; Many other relatives and friends. Roy is preceded in death by his Parents, Archie and Betty Harper and Special Niece-in-law, Nacoma Barton. Arrangements under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral home and crematory in Livingston.
