Ruth Sant Brammer of Livingston, MT passed away, while surrounded by family, on December 23, 2024. She was 79 years old.
Ruth was born on February 21, 1945 in Newark, NJ to Harold and Ruth O’Toole. Following her parents’ passing, she was adopted by Jack and Charlotte Sant. As a child, Ruth lived in Pennsylvania, Washington, and New Jersey before graduating in 1966 from the San Diego College for Women. Ruth became a lifelong educator and found such joy in a career teaching elementary school. She taught in New Jersey, California, and Indiana. The positive connections made both with students and fellow teachers were lifelong and felt throughout the community. In 1974, Ruth bought a new sofa from Duane Brammer,and little did she know that seven months later they would be married. In 1976, Ruth and Duane moved to New Castle, IN where they made a home for 48 years. They raised their children and built a strong supportive community in New Castle. In 2022, the couple moved to Livingston, MT to be closer to their children.
Ruth was a devout Catholic and active in the church her entire life. Her faith gave her such peace. She enjoyed participating in numerous service organizations throughout her lifetime including P.E.O. She loved the ocean, traveling and learning about different cultures, and connecting with others. She will be remembered for her authentic positivity and genuine love she had for her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Duane Brammer of Livingston, MT; her daughter, Margaret Brammer, of Denver, CO; her son, Mark Brammer (wife Katy), and her sweet granddaughter, Wallis Brammer all of Livingston, MT.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul.
Cards and condolences may be mailed to Ruth's family in care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, PO Box 638 Livingston, MT 59047. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ruth’s memory to Henry County Community Foundation.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. Fr. Garrett Nelson will preside. Services will conclude at the chapel. Services are pending in Indiana.
