Malcolm Scholarship fund, held at the Bank of the Rockies: 1203 West Park Street; Livingston, MT 59047 or the Park County 4-H Council, 414 E Callender St, Livingston, MT 59047. Sharon was born on July 15th, 1947, in Lewistown, MT, the daughter of Mack H. and Ruth Ellen (Irish) Smith. She received her education in Lewistown and was a graduate of the Fergus County High School. Following graduation she moved to Bozeman and attended Montana State University. She earned a degree in elementary education in 1969. Following her graduation from MSU she taught kindergarten in Bozeman. On February 14 of 1970 she met the love of her life, Philip Malcolm at the Longbranch Saloon in Livingston. On June 13th, 1970, Sharon was united in marriage to Phil, at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Emigrant. This marriage was blessed with three children, Alex, Will and Heather. Sharon and Phil shared 46 years of marriage. They continued running the family ranch on Mill Creek. Sharon was a hard working mother and ranch wife. She took on many tasks at the ranch for herself and was dedicated to her children and their needs. She became a leader in the 4-H program in 1980 and was extremely dedicated to the organization for the next 35 years. She was always present and ready to help with any project. Sharon assisted with the 4-H fair, was an Organizational Leader of the Paradise Experimenters 4-H Club, was a Park County Project leader and served on the Park County 4-H Council. She did a lot of wrangling of kids in her 35 years. She was also a member of the Shining Mountain Ladies Club. In 1991 she and Phil moved to a ranch on Cokedale Road, with new pastures to roam. She was a woman of principals. She was not afraid to stand up for her principals and let her opinions be heard. For a woman of petite stature she could fill a room with her gusto. She encouraged her children to do what they wanted and achieve their very best at that endeavor. She would help the 4-H member or niece or nephew in the very same way. Sharon your spirit will live on in our hearts and in the 4-H community that you have helped build. Blessed be your memory. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Phil of Livingston.
