She was the daughter of Raymond and Olga (Bennefeld) George. She began her education at the Rosedale Country School through the eighth grade and was a graduate of the Park County High School Class of 1954. She met the love of her life in church and in 1958, Shirley was united in marriage to Arthur Bragg, at the Livingston Bible Church. This marriage was blessed with two children, daughter, Valerie Annette and son, Stacy Wayne. Shirley and Art began their lives living in Livingston. In 1966 they were fortunate to purchase their dream property on the Yellowstone River and to have built the home which Shirley resided at for the rest of her life. They shared 25 years of marriage prior to Art passing in 1983. Shirley loved her home and the blessings family brought. She stayed home raising children and keeping the home and the yard tidy. She so enjoyed and was so proud of her flower gardens and was quite talented artistically. In 1976 Shirley went to work at the Winans School. She helped prepare and serve lunches, and was always assisting with keeping the kids on track and in-line. She was a fixture at the Winans School for 23 years. She loved to travel. Whether a Sunday drive down the valley or a trip across country Shirley was ready to go. She loved her cats and dogs; loved her horses, snowmobiling, any-time spent in the outdoors. Her family was always in her heart, her children, nieces, nephews and greats were always dear to her. She loved to laugh and appreciated good humor. Shirley was a giving soul, whose quiet strength has given much comfort and relief to loved ones over the years. Blessed be her memory. Shirley is survived by her son, Stacy Bragg of Livingston. Many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie who passed in 1967, husband, Art who passed in 1983 and her siblings: brothers, Leo and Kenneth George, sister, Maxine McPherson. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
