TaLia DeArmond, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, in the early morning hours at home at the Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a gradual decline in health. Loved by all, she was a bright light spreading joy and good cheer to everyone around her with her contagious laughter, positive outlook, and great enthusiasm for life. A very special thank you to the staff at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center, to the staff at Livingston Health Care Hospice, and to the Living Hope Church Ministry for exceptional steadfast care given over many years' time.
TaLia (named Sondra Kaye at birth) was born on January 28, 1946, to George E. and Marian (Manford) Bennett of Kansas City, MO. TaLia graduated from Southeast High School, Kansas City, MO, in 1964. TaLia valued hard work and she worked hard at every job she had throughout her life. In Kansas City she worked full-time at Trans World Airlines in the Kansas City Administration Center (KCAC) while baking gourmet pudding stand-up birthday cakes as a side business. Viewed as a genius of the creative arts by her friends and family, she sewed clothes, quilts, and costumes using her own patterns, baked cookies by the dozens, made elegant cream puff swans, astounding all around her with her great skill and original creativity. In 1994 TaLia moved to Montana where she lived the remaining years of her life. She worked at Chico Hot Springs in the Laundry Department, at The Enterprise Newspaper, and finally at Arby's as a dishwasher. She was active at Grace United Methodist Church and then Living Hope Church in Livingston, MT.
TaLia is survived by her daughter Gia Maisch (husband Mark) of Kansas City, MO; her brother Rev. David Bennett (wife Dianne) of Manchester, MO; her ex-husband and friend James Arthur DeArmond, Jr., of Kansas City, MO; her niece Chalice Lafferty (husband Matt) of Chicago, IL; her niece Rachel Franklin (husband Bo) of Southgate, KY; all of her cousins, a great-niece and two great-nephews; and her friend who is just like family Julie Jardine (husband Lyn Roberts) of Livingston, MT.
