Wallace Raymond Case

Wallace Raymond "Wally" Case, 88, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A Graveside Memorial Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 23rd, at the Wilsall Cemetery with Sandy Williams as Celebrant. We will meet at the cemetery. Fellowship and coffee and cookies will follow the service at the Park County Senior Center in Livingston. Memorial are preferred in lieu of flowers to the charity of the donors choice. Wally was born on June 27, 1927, in Stevensville, Montana. He was the son of Walter James and Villa Ora (Powers) Case. His family moved to the Emigrant area in the 1940s. He received his education in Livingston. Wally entered active military service in the United States Army on November 6th, 1945, and served his country during the Second World War. He was stationed in Germany where he was with the Seventh Regiment, First Armored Division, known as: "Custers Army". He was the Staff Sargent of a construction division, charged with overseeing vehicle maintenance. He received an Honorable Discharge on November 11th, 1949. In September of 1952, Wally was united in marriage to Joyce Emery. This marriage was blessed with three children, Roger, Warren and Judy. The couple later separated in 1978. He was later wed to his current spouse, Faye Patricia (McElwee) Hargis on January 27th, 1984. They shared 31 years of marriage. Following his service in the Army, Wally returned to Livingston and ranched and had a couple of other odd jobs before taking employment with the Downer Lumber Company and working with them until their closure. He then was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Hash Construction Company; he drove for the Wilcoxsons Ice Cream Company for 17 years before beginning work for the Railroad serving on their Building and Bridges Division until his retirement. Wally was a good natured man, was kind and friendly. He loved to fish the rivers and lakes, hunt and work on his woodworking projects. Many will remember his chainsaw carved bears and log benches which he sold at the Livingston Farmers Market. He was ever so talented of a woodworker, carpenter and at crafting anything with his hands. He was a member of the Livingston American Legion Post #23 and the Park County Pioneers. Blessed be his memory. Wally is survived by his: Wife of 31 years, Faye Case of Livingston. His children, son, Roger Case and his wife Barbara of Minnesota; their children, Adam and Andrew; son, Warren Case and his wife Kathy of Livingston; Kathys children, Ginger and Kim; daughter, Judy Manweiller and her husband Mike of Joliet, their children, Joe, Christina and Michael, and several great-grandchildren. Step-children, Julie Coldwell and her husband Jim of Kansas and Tim Hargis of Bozeman and step-grandchildren as well. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Wally is preceded in death by his Parents, Walter and Villa Case; sisters, Odelia and Dorotha. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
